Ahh, rich people.
They make “fairy-tale weddings” look like it’s last season when they go all out… while the rest of us mere mortals savour it greedily through the over-brightened 5-inch screens of our phones.
Earlier in February, two of the most #rkoi families united as Faliq of the Naza Holdings family took the eldest heiress of the Berjaya Corporation giant as his lawfully wedded wife. The solemnisation was so surreally beautiful, it put Disney to shame. Fast forward 5 months later, which was a couple of days ago, the sinfully wealthy power duo hosted their grand reception… and boy, the word ‘grand’ can never have the same meaning ever again.
Here’s why #chrysfaliqeverafter is the #rkoi wedding of your dreams.
You know your wedding is ballin’ and lit and all that fire when your guests can’t seem to spell the designated hashtag right! The fair lady bride has a uniquely difficult-to-spell (and pronounce, now that I’m starting to say it in my head) name – as much as I wanted to see photos on my feed, I failed to spell it right. Pro tip: everyone’s who’s anyone is and was posting about it, just piggy back on their hashtags!
2. It’s a Blue ball
They had Blue perform live at their wedding. I think that during that time, about a million 90’s kids’ dream of watching Blue perform again came true.
3. Swear It All Over Again
You know what’s even more freaking heart-wrenchingly nostalgic than seeing Blue perform again after what feels like a good 10 years? Hearing 1/5 of Westlife perform one of their greatest hits.
At this point, I have a feeling that the guests were too enthralled by the star-packed performances rather than the couple of the night. Call me an asshole, but if I were invited, I know fully well that I would have been like #chryingbrbshanefilanisliveandswearingitalloveragain
Phew. Told you guys that hashtag’s nuts.
Like any wedding, the center of attention is always the bride and the dress she wears. In this case, with all that money in the world, lady Chrys seemed to have avoided pulling a #MeghanMarkle and donned a beautiful traditionally modern songket dress – a respectable homage to her husband’s cultural roots.
This time, Fiziwoo did not disappoint. Take a look at this high-level wedding dress, guys.
Twas a beautiful wedding… beautiful indeed…
