(Short Story) Clap Clap

One day, a young married couple went hiking. As the sun began to set, they realised they were lost.

The wife was getting worried, so her husband was trying to calm her down. He assured her that eventually, they would find their way back to their car.

However, after walking for hours, they were still lost.

The young couple was getting desperate. They had no maps, no compasses, and the trees looked the same. Just as they were about to give up hope, they came across an old cabin in a clearing.

It had looked as if it had seen better days. It was dilapidated and looked like it hadn’t been used in years.

But they were desperate for shelter. The couple approached the front door, just to find that it was already open.

They went in hesitantly, and it seemed as if nobody was there. They decided that they will stay the night and be off first thing in the morning.

Wrapping themselves in a carpet, they went to sleep on a very old mattress.

Night time came.

BANG!

A loud sound came, and they woke, thinking that somebody was out there.

The man went to the window and yelled, “Is somebody out there?”

No answer.

BANG!

The man yelled back, “Clap once for yes, twice for no.”
Then, there was a loud CLAP.

The husband asked, “Are you a man?”

CLAP CLAP.

“Are you a woman?”

CLAP CLAP.

“Are you human?”

CLAP CLAP.

“Are you here alone?”

CLAP CLAP.

“Clap once for each person, or thing that you are!”

CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP
